- Simen, our team leader, has a long history as a biker, spanning almost 20 year. His experience in winter biking is invaluable to the team.
- Mads is a biker from Copenhagen, an intercity biking expert very familiar with the pleasantness, pains and hazards of cycling.
- David, doctor in astrophysics, is well aware of the dangers of biking on icy roads, with nice scar and broken finger to show for it.
- Øyvind is a machine learning enthusiast, but is currently under cover as a front-end developer. On a scale from 1 to 7, he’s not a keen cyclist.
- Morten has an IoT background from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, and is an avid cyclist looking to combine these two passions.
Together, this extremely motivated and capable team will create the SmartHjelm of the future!
The trip to ARIoT this morning was another indication that public transport is not the transportation method of the future. Cycling has the potential, but something is clearly missing. We arrived at Voksenåsen hotel with a “dumb” bicycle helmet. When we leave, the helmet will be transformed into SmartHjelm, the product that will revolutionise cycling and establish cycling as the transport solution of the future! Wearing SmartHjelm, with its sensors and smart technology, cycling will never be the same again!

Using cutting edge sensor and cloud technology, the SmartHjelm will enable the wearer to ride in safety and comfort.
Using advanced image processing techniques, the helmet signals other the surroundings to avoid dangerous situations, and will warn the rider of imminent danger when necessary.
