We are building smart helmet, SmartHjelm. It will revolutionise cycling and make it a means of transportation for the future!

GSP-sensor at the top, speakers for warning and informing other travellers, Raspberry Pi with Sense HAT for weather and movement data collection and rear view camera for a rear view mirror coming to our native iOS app.
The cyclist of the future!

The SmartHjelm integrates several IoT devices to create a smart cycling helmet: GPS for location data and speed (black cap on top), accelerometer for movement data, temperature and humidity for weather data (from Sense HAT on top of the Raspberry Pi at the back), and a camera. The data is made available through a Flask API running on the Raspberry Pi, and used by our native iOS app (more on that later!).

The accelerometer is used to turn on the breaking light automatically, with sound effects of course!

Automatic breaking light with sound effect.

Not only does our helmet make cycling easier, safer and more convenient, but it is also good for the environment. We believe our SmartHjelm, with its unique and valuable features, braking light, communication by speech through Google Assistant, and a dashboard on your own mobile phone with information about the weather, cycling conditions, location and speed, will make cycling vastly more popular than it is today. It will move people out of their fossil cars and onto their bikecycles, meaning it is also good for the environment.
