The traditional turn signal while cycling is to let go of the bar and reach out an arm in the direction you want to turn. Many people even make the turn with only one arm on the steering bar. This is horrendously unsafe, but don’t worry, our app provides the solution! With the touch of a finger, a user can instantly activate the rear light-emitting unit’s turn signal. This lets the user maintain full control of their vehicle while turning, greatly improving safety for all road users.
As well as controlling SmartHjelm, the application also displays important, real-time information. Whenever a turn signal is active, the brake light is on, or an emergency is detected, pixel-perfect, color matched, intuitive indicators keep the user in the loop. And in the top right corner, the SmartHjelm wearer can see local weather information and the current speed. This information may prove vital in the user’s decision making, potentially saving lives.
To activate SmartHjelm‘s turn signals, the user can tap the large, yet subtle, buttons. Less is more. The translucent buttons avoid blocking the all-important rear view camera feed, while their sheer size makes them so clickable. And when you do – you’re rewarded with carefully designed feedback, making the button feel like a natural extension of your finger. They are truly awesome buttons. They’re great.
