Skogvokterne – all the senses!

Badge – This is intense

We are utilizing smoke detection, temperature & humidity, motion detection, a camera and a microphone in our solution!

How we use our camera is described in one of our previous posts: https://blog-ariot19.azurewebsites.net/2019/03/07/skogvokterne-cloud-city/

Sensor #1 & #2 – Temperature and humidity

Here is temperature and humidity. This will be used for research purposes. If a fire starts in the forest, we can view the history. From that we can see if there are patterns in the development that we could use to prevent future fires.

Sensor #3 – Smoke detection

It can also detect gasses like butane! We dont’t want butane in our forest – specially during summer when the forest is dry and in risk of a fire…

Sensor #4 –Motion detection

This sensor is used to trigger the camera to take a photo, and to send to the cloud for analysis – this way we can see our perpetrators in action and sound the alarm to our protectors!

Sensor #5 – Microphone

The microphone is used to both detect unwanted sounds in the forest. This triggers the speaker on the “tree in distress” scream back at its attacker!

Simulation of potential threat – triangulate the s*** out of the perpetrator

We have also made a simulation to check that our sensors will be able to detect exact location of the perpetrator
